André Girard has been Vice-President, Communications, for the Federal Bridge Corporation Limited since May 2000. In this capacity, he has been responsible for communications in Montreal for the Jacques-Cartier Bridge repair project in 2000-2001 as well as for a number of other initiatives including the installation of the anti jump barrier on the Jacques Cartier Bridge, management of the bicycle path, and maintenance and repair projects managed by the JCCBI including the Champlain Bridge, Jacques Cartier Bridge and most recently the Honoré Mercier Bridge deck rehabilitation.
With more than 30 years experience in communications, André has developed in-depth and varied expertise working with a number of high-profile organizations, including the Royal Canadian Mint, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, management of the press room for the public enquiry on the deployment of Canadian forces in Somalia and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions. He has also worked in the film business, was editor-in-chief of an Inuit magazine and has been an active participant in public consultations on behalf of engineering firms, selection and communications programs in Northern Quebec. He has always favoured dialogue and exchange as well as transparency in communications with the general public.
André Girard’s experience has provided him with the tools necessary to explain and present all facets and phases of this extensive project.
